Splendor Layout Workshop on the Go with a Twist

This pattern is similar to the layout shown in the Splendor Workshop on the Go. However, I changed it up a bit. Instead of having one larger (5X7) picture on the left side, I used 2 smaller (4X6) photos. Then on the left side I expanded the entire layout to utilize the entire 12X12 page, eliminating any white space and using larger 3X3 photos. This isn't my most favorite layout I have ever done and was a little hesitant to even post it to the blog, but then I remembered why I scrapbook in the first place: to chronicle and document our lives. I wanted to show what our life was like in the summer and show off pictures of the kids just playing and having fun in our own backyard. Scrapbooking isn't about the perfect page, layout, embellishments; it is about leaving a lasting legacy of pictures and stories of your lives for others to see and look back upon.

Cherry-O Layout Level 2

This is a level 2 layout I put together this summer after I took some cute pictures of my kids licking the brownie batter. The great thing about the stickease that Close to My Heart has is the pictures that are on the back of each one. They show a layout using the stickease and the coordinating paper pack. So, one package of the stickease contains two sheets of stickers and two 2-page layouts using them. This layout shows one of the layouts on the back of the stickease. All I did was put the layout together as shown and add my own pictures. How easy is that? No stamping required. This makes it so fast and easy! I used a flip-flap on this layout to show 2 more pictures of my kids. The third picture shows it open and the fourth picture shows it closed.

Thank You Card

Don't you just love this simple thank you card? I created it using the papers from the Passages paper. The Passages paper pack is geared towards travel, antique, and more manly colors, but I just adore the paper that looks like old-time writing.

Supplies used to make this card: Wishes book Simple Expressions, X7126b Passages paper, D1361 Thank you stamp set, Z1266 Just Blooms Spring Blossom, Z1269 Filigree Charms, Z2166 tulip ink.

Cherry -O Layout

I love the Cherry-O paper. It is one of my favorites! I created this layout for my club member and we put it together this past August. I finished putting the pictures and the journaling I wanted for it this past weekend. I have a ton of completed layouts that are just waiting for pictures and/or journaling! Most people have pictures that need layouts, but I am just the opposite. I rarely have pictures of myself taken; I am usually the one behind the camera, not in front of it! So, I set up the tri-pod and camera one day this summer and took some pictures together.

Supplies used for this layout: X7123b Cherry-O paper, B1351 You're Sweet stamp set, D1427 Tasty Treats stamp set, E1014 Posterboard Alphabet stamp set, tulip ink, sweet leaf ink, chocolate ink, goldrush ink, honey ink, tulip ribbon, tulip brads, 3-D foam tape, tag punch.

Jingle Layout

I created this Jingle layout about a year ago and just finished putting pictures and the journaling on it! It's about time! Making cookies and decorating them is a family tradition that I love and I'm so excited that my kids love it as much as I do! The jingle paper is retiring this year and is almost gone, so if you love this paper, you will need to order it right away before it is too late! You can click on the shopping cart and it will take you to my website where you can order it on-line and have it shipped to your door! The title is made from the posterboard alphabet stamp set and then I used liquid applique on the letters and heated it with a heat gun to make it look like frosting. I made the gingerbread house by stamping the house with versa mark, adding white embossing powder and heating.

Supplies used on this layout: x7115b Jingle paper pack, D1195 The works alphabet stamp set, E1014 Posterboard alphabet stamp set, November 2009 Stamp of the month: Around the block, z308 liquid applique, z1145 whimsy heartfelt die-cuts, juniper ribbon, juniper brads, juniper ink, tulip ink, white embossing powder, sparkles, versa mark, heat gun.

This is a layout I created using the new Olivia papers. It is a level 2 layout, which means there are no stamps used. It's stickers (stickease), papers, ribbon, opaques, and the new foundry flourishes. The layout is made using the new Magic book, which gives "recipes" on how to make layouts, including cutting directions. I love all the CTMH books, but this one is by far my favorite.

Two Cards with Magnifique and A Sip

These are two cards I made using the Magnifique paper pack and the stamp set "A Sip". This is an "A" size stamp set and is only 7.95! I embossed the silver spoon and used the new opaques and some liquid applique to make it look foamy like a latte or hot chocolate. You can see more artwork using the new stamp sets from the fall/winter idea book on my CTMH website. Go check it out!

Splendor Layout

This is the layout my scrapbook groups made for July. It is a level 3 layout, which means all the papers were cut out and pieced together and created with stamps. Paper was Splendor and stamp sets included Grown with Love, Tasty Treats, Wonderful Friend, and Flowerpot. It was a fairly simple layout with the exception of the tree. Each leaf, flower and trunk were all cut out seperately and glued into place. Some of the flowers were added with foam tape to give some dimension. The Flowerpot and Wonderful Friend were Stamp of the Months for April and June and are no longer available unless they decide to put them into upcoming idea books/catalogs.
Supplies used to create this layout are Close to My Heart:
X7124B Splendor paper pack, D1427 Tasty Treats, D1372Grown with Love, Moonstruck ink, Topiary ink, Desert Sand ink, Goldrush ink, CTMH markers in moonstruck, topiary, goldrush, and lilac mist.

Cherry-O Recipe Box

I love the recipe box so much I had to make one for my own. I used the Cherry-O papers and the My Originals Sugar & Spice recipe card kit. This kit contains 32 cute recipe cards, 3 sheets of stickers and 6 recipe inserts that I labeled with "deserts, salads etc." and it is only 12.95! I have tons of stickers left over to make cards or a layout or even another recipe box. The recipe box comes plain white and ready to decorate. The recipe box is only 6.95 and both are available on my website. Just click on the shopping cart to the left.

Supplies used to create the recipe box:

Veranda Card Box

I made this recipe box/card box for the aide I had in my classroom last year. She was absolutely amazing and we became close friends throughout the school year. I took the My Creations Recipe box and covered it with Veranda Creative Basics Paper, sponged ink all the edges, wrapped the box with creme brulee ribbon, stamped a few images, and added the flowers and butterfly. I put in about 18-20 cards that I handmade with some envelopes and gave it to her at the end of the school year.
Materials used to create this card box:
All supplies are Close to My Heart. Veranda Creative Basics Paper, Garden Green cardstock, creme brulee ribbon, Just Blooms spring blossom paper flowers and butterflies, Filigree charms, garden green ink, desert sand ink, True Friends stamp set.

Welcome and a Card

Welcome to my blog! This is my very first post! I'm so excited to start blogging. I have thought about it a lot and finally decided to just do it! I'm hoping to post some new artwork I have created a couple of times a week. I love to scrapbook and create cards, layouts and other papercrafts. I hope you like the creations I will be sharing with you. This is the card I made for a wedding my husband and I attended earlier this summer. It is made with the veranda papers and I love how the flowers dress it up a bit. The rectangle mat the flowers are on is raised up a bit with foam tape to add some interest and dimension.
Supplies used to create this card:
Veranda papers, garden green cardstock, Just Blooms Spring Blossom floweres, chocolate ribbon, Filigree charms, and paper punch.
